A Night in the Lab

I am currently taking Organic Chemistry right now. It's pretty tough. The best part about it is the labs. They are pretty fun. My professor is awesome. He lets us listen to music as we do our lab. Sometimes the labs can be a little long. And by long I'll be in the lab from 6-11:30 at night and still have to come back the next day to finish. But thank goodness I usually get out around 10. Sometimes the labs smell good...sometimes they dont smell too great. Our labs are mostly distillations. For example...
The distillation of Ethanol. Before the process it smelled like beer.

This one was the distillation of Isopentyl Acetate (Banana Oil). Smelled really good.


I have really learned a lot in lab for Org. Chemistry. However, I cannot wait for the semester to be over. But for now, I keep learning interesting lab techniques.
